Touma says: "Uhh... me? Well, I'm not too special, really. I go to Ha'na High School, in the Shinjuku ward of Tokyo. My grandfather runs a shrine, and when he was small, Shuu Rei Fuan used to be a student there, so we sort of grew up together. I've got an I.Q. of about 250, which some people say makes me a genius. My father is a scientist who specialises in physics and astronomy, so I guess brains just run in my family. Sometimes people look at me a little funny when I try to explain things... I guess I use big words a lot. I like mystery novels, computer games, studying, and baseball! Go, Hanshin! Er, my parents are divorced, and I've been living with my father in a high-rise apartment in Osaka. My mother's a bit of a free spirit - she comes and goes as she pleases. The Samurai Troopers are pretty much the first real friends I've ever had, and I'll do anything to keep them safe. Oh! I also have low blood pressure, so I tend to sleep in a lot. A lot. Hmm... let's just say I wouldn't know there was a ten o'clock in the morning if someone else hadn't told me. I guess the fact I usually stay up all night reading and playing video games doesn't help either. Oh, and I love to eat, especially anything sweet; I have a bit of a sweet tooth."

"My yoroi is the armour of Tenku, and draws its power from the element of air. As long as I'm in the air, I know that Tenku will never let me down! My weapon of choice is the Sho Ha Kyu, a golden collapsible compound bow, and a quiver full of arrows. Nobody really knows how many arrows I've got, but I've never run out yet! I'm a pretty good shot, if I do say so myself, and skilled in both the Eastern and Western styles of archery. My yoroi may not be one of the most powerful around, but it's very protective of me, catching me in mid-air when I fall and even managing to keep me safe in the depths of outer space!"

Touma is the Samurai Trooper of intellect. Although he is incredibly smart, he tends to overcomplicate things, and sometimes even confuses his fellow Troopers with his long-winded technical explanations. Also, his high I.Q. does not guarantee he will be wise, or even use common sense: in fact, he has often blundered into dangerous situations when not paying enough attention to his surroundings.

Touma Hashiba's japanese voice actor, or seiyuu, was Hiroshi Takemura. Kusao is also known for his roles in other popular anime, such as Crusher Joe in Crusher Joe, Grash in Project A-Ko, Nagisa's Underling in Koko ha Greenwood, and Jinroku in Sazae-san.

In the Ronin Warriors dub, "Rowen" is voiced by Ward Perry. Ward is known for his roles as Dodoria in Dragon Ball Z, Nikki in Dragon Ball Z: Dead Zone, and Doctor Kochin in Dragon Ball Z: The World's Strongest. He has also provided various voices for Ranma 1/2 and provided the english voice for Naaza.
